Keyless Entry System

Keyless entry systems are an effective method to secure your rental property without physical keys. They allow guests and tenants to access the property with a code, or their mobile phones. These systems can be used with intercoms to allow video and audio communications. This gives people multiple ways to enter a building. Certain keyless entry systems utilize cloud-based technology that allows them to be managed remotely. They also have more advanced features.

A keyless entry system can be installed in any residential or commercial property. The hardware must be placed at each entryway. The system then needs to be managed and configured through a central console, or via a smartphone app. According to Technavio the keyless entry market is expected to grow by an annual growth rate between 2016 to 2022 of 11.8 percent.  fiat keys The Key Lab  can be attributed to the growing demand for security systems in commercial vehicles.

Many people fear getting locked out of their homes, and so they usually keep a spare key hidden in a safe place. This poses a significant security risk, as criminals know where they keep their spare keys and will easily find the keys. Installing a keyless entry at your home is the ideal way to prevent this. This will ensure that you won't be locked out again.

Transponder Chip

The transponder or "chip key", is a micro-chip which is built into the head portion of your car keys. It's among the most important security layers for your vehicle. The term "transponder" is derived from the combination of responder and transmitter that is why, once the key is put into the ignition and turned, the antenna ring of your vehicle sends a burst of radio frequency energy to the transponder chip. The chip responds by transmitting its unique identification code back to the antenna ring. The computer in the car interprets this information and decides whether it is a valid or not.

The key must be a transponder one to start the car. If it's not, the vehicle will remain unresponsive. The chip is protected by a polycarbonate coating which prevents it from being cloned with regular mechanical keys or copied by laser equipment. Beishir Lock and Security carries a wide assortment of transponder keys at a fraction of the cost of car dealerships.

In the 1980s, GM began to introduce transponder chips into the Corvette. This technology drastically reduced car thefts, since it made hot-wiring a thing of the past. This is a very basic explanation of the workings of a chip key and If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

Immobiliser System

The engine immobiliser system (also called the anti-theft) is a crucial aspect of your car's security. When you insert the Smart Key or ignition switch into your car, the transponder in the key transmits a number of codes. The ECU confirms that the code generated by the chip matches the one stored in it and then only allows the engine to start.

This is the primary way that your car's immobiliser prevents theft. If the code on the chip does not match the code on the ECU will block the flow of current from the fuel pump relay to the injection system, preventing the engine from getting started. The immobiliser may also disable the starter motor or ignition coil to prevent the engine from getting initiated by force.

Unfortunately the system isn't 100% secure. The code used to unlock the immobiliser in your car can be cracked by thieves and used to open it. However, the latest versions of these systems come with a an extended cryptographic sequence that is more difficult to guess.

Car immobilisers are mandatory since 1998 but many cars were equipped with basic immobilisers even before then. It's important to note that even though an immobiliser system makes it more difficult to steal a car it doesn't prevent thieves from towing it away or breaking into the vehicle in order to steal your valuables.

Key Replacement

Losing a remote, key or fob could be costly and stressful. Locksmiths will need to gain entry to the car and decode or read the VIN and then reprogramme the new replacement to wipe out any signatures from the computer for all of the keys that have been lost, stolen or damaged.

A key replacement will be more expensive if your car is equipped with a transponder and/or integrated security chip. These chips send signals to your car to confirm that you are the driver, and allow doors to be opened and the engine started. The cost of an replacement smart key is around $160.
